I heard Amit Trivedi for the first time in DEV D, very different kind of music (of course wonderful) and lovely songs. Pardesi, Saali Khushi and Nayan Tarse are my fav songs from this movie. Honestly, I am little bit biased towards Saali Khushi, well the first reason is because of its beautiful lyrics and the second reason is the singer, Amit Trivedi.
After DEV D, I heard Ektara from the movie Wake Up Sid, beautiful music by Amit Trivedi.
Keh ke lunga from Gangs of Wasseypur as a singer.
Then came English Vinglish, beautiful movie and amazing music. I like English Vinglish and Dhak Dhuk, because of good music and wonderfully sung by Amit Trivedi.
Kai Po Che – aah what a music by Amit Trivedi. Meethi boliyaan and Manjha – again the singer is the Man himself, Amit Trivedi.
Queen – amazing movie, superb music by Amit Trivedi. My fav. songs in this movie are Badra bahar, Jugni and Harjaiyaan. In the song Harjaiyaan (sung by Nandini Srikar), there is this trumpet(?) music (from 23:10 to 23:42 @ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5mqhI2pActU ), beautifully played by Mr. Kishore Sodha and the music is of course by Amit Trivedi.
Fitoor – Music by Amit Trivedi himself. Almost all songs are good but I like Pashmina the most -- just amazing, beautiful lyrics, wonderful music and again the amazing singer Amit Trivedi.
Shaandaar - Movie is not that great but I liked this one songs, the title song Shaandaar and again the singer is Amit Trivedi.
Udta Punjab (I have not seen this movie)– Good Songs, I like the song Vadiya by Amit Trivedi.
Sometime I really wonder whether Amit Trivedi is better Musician or a Better singer.
If I have to rate him out of 5 for his music and his voice, I would say 4.9 for music and 5.0 for his voice.
I wish to meet him one day (nope, neither for any selfie with him nor for his autograph) and tell him these ratings to him in Gujarati as we both are gujju :-)
I wish one day Amit Trivedi will compose and sing the songs that are written by none other than one of my Fav. Gulzar Sahib, would be amazing music to ears.
