Doll

She is the most beautiful girl I have ever seen; she is very cute, very soft and her smile….the most beautiful smile.

She makes hundreds of faces in her sleep, and I just keep looking at her face. Initially I was scared to hold her in my arms but now I think I can manage. Couple of times she slept in my arms and I cannot explain that wonderful feeling. She sleeps for at least 18 hours a day and she wakes up for only two things……eating and crying :) (and of course to have fun with me :) :) )

The most beautiful thing is her smile when she is at sleep; a pure smile and I just love that.

Nowadays, I just don’t like coming to office. I want to stay back at home and want to spend my entire time with her. I love to talk to her; I am not sure how much she understands when I talk to her but I still love to talk to her. I try to go home early so that I can play with her but she goes to sleep by the time I reach home :(

She is 7 days old doll, my niece. I love her more than anything in my life.

The Eternal Optimist

I was reading about this guy in TOI* who cleared his 10th Standard (In India, We can join junior college only after we clear 10th Standard board exam (Matriculation)) exam in 44th attempt.

It took 27 long years to clear his exam. First time he appeared in the year 1977 and finally he cleared his 10th Standard exam in 2003. I truly admire this guy.

What I like about this guy is he stuck to his goal no matter what; he stuck to his goal in spite of these many failures. He was crystal clear in his mind about what he wants and he just went for it whole heartedly.

After he cleared his exam, he promoted to clerical level job from Peon (Office boy). :)

He could have let it go but he didn’t and that is the only reason for his success. I would like him to pursue for graduation; I am sure if he decides that he will achieve that.

I think we all have a thing or two to learn from him, don’t you think?

3 Idiots

I was talking to one of my friends about the movie 3 Idiots. He liked the movie very much. He said parents should allow their kids to do whatever they are interested in and they should not impose their own thoughts on their.

I asked him, would you allow your son to play hockey and make his career into it (Field Hockey and not Ice Hockey) in case if he loves this game and wants to make his career in it. Straightaway he said “No, there is no money in that game (at least in India.)”

I am not sure by not allowing his son to play hockey, my friend is doing right or not, what would you do?

(“3 Idiots” is a recent Indian (Hindi) movie that has received praise from all across the country).

Mumbai Rickshawalas…..

Being from Mumbai, I should say Mumbai auto drivers are honest and they will not make you fool out of you to earn more money……(Exceptions are everywhere and I am sure you will find few auto drives who are not honest).

I go home by auto rickshaw on every day as most of the time it is late in the evening and normally I pay Rs.15-16. I catch a rickshaw from one specific location so couple of auto drivers knows me and they drop me at my home without any direction from me. I have developed a friendship with them and few times they let go a rupee or two or sometime I do the same (because of change issue). One auto driver, he always takes Rs.4-5 less than what he should be takeing and I don’t k now why? We always have arguments on it. I always try to give him the money as per the meter and he always says give me Rs. 4-5 less, I just don’t know why he does that? I always tell him it is your hard earned money and you should take it and he says “kya leke aaye the aur kya leke jaayenge…” (We came to this world with empty hands and when we will die we will not take anything with us), but I make it a point that I pay him entirely. The question is still there “Why he is not taking entire money?”. Any idea?

One day, I was going in an auto for some work, Auto driver stopped the rickshaw at red signal and he was looking for something on the road, I didn’t understand what he was looking for? But it didn’t take much time for me to understand that. Suddenly he jumped red signal and when I asked him why he jumped red the signal, he said there was no traffic police and that’s why he jumped the red signal. I asked the relation between jumping the red signal and traffic police. Again he said, as there was no traffic police so I jumped the red signal. Then I realized that as there was no traffic police no one will catch him for jumping the red signal. I was like what the hell is going on here? I told him you can’t jump the red signal irrespective of presence of traffic police. This is one of the things that I don’t like about rickshawalas in Mumbai. I hope some day they will (Actually we all) follow the traffic rules.
